I need to replace the breakson my 2003 Park Ave. Ultra. While I was looking on Ebay I found drilled rotors for less than standard. Was looking for a professional opinion before buying them. What are some thoughts on these? I am not an extreme driver but if they do help stopping power that would be a plus. This Park ave. is a boat!

I wouldn't go the cheap route when it comes to brakes if I were you. When it comes to ebay, you usually get what you pay for.. just because its cheaper, doesn't mean its a good deal.. But maybe they are good. I don't have any experience with them

If want something "special" for brakes, go with slotted. They offer more "bite" against the pad and aren't as weak as drilled rotors are. The only drilled rotors I would ever use are the Porsche ones, but that'* because they do it right. Every other drilled rotor out there just drills holes into them, and doesn't reinforce the edges of the holes.

Drilled rotors on Ebay are generally cheap rotors someone has drilled some holes into. They chew up brake pads, and weaken the rotor. Slotted rotors, if you buy good ones, have better stopping power but chew up your pads. If you are looking at drilled or slotted that are cheaper than plain rotors they are likely cheap rotors that someone has machined. I would stay away from them. It is okay to buy Ebay brake components, but stick to the name brands and stay away from the "too good to be true" deals.

I use plain rotors, but that is a personal preference. I will use Akebono ceramic pads and premium rotors (Bendix?) for my next brake job.

I bought some ceramic pads and slotted rotors from a site that Dan told me about. I forget where he said, but according to him he stops like crazy and has ton of pad left after about a year on them.

I ended up going with the drilled rotors and ceramic pads. 20,000 mi and no warping, pad wear is normal. No complaints yet.
