ok after some research I found the reason i found anti freeze in the upper intake plenum .. its warped and a new one is on the way ... man after reading all the stuff on the plenum i feel GM has done a disservice us...that is clearly a design flaw and there should have been a recall on that......

as far as i can tell there is no individual map sensor on this car ... what i have been told is that the MAF and the MAP sensor are together in the same unit I have checked it with a ohms meter and it says it with in tolerance... and i cleaned the MAP part with cleaner I guess i will see after the new upper intake is put on.... thanks to those who responded to my post....

Your motor never had a MAP to my knowledge. Only a MAF. Gm and other manufacturers were still learning how to control/make the engines run well in that timeframe.

yes i find it very confusing my self the 3.1 engine that also came in that car has a map sensor just not the 3.8.. GM has been using map sensors for years prior to this vehicle and after so who knows whats up with there thinking on this engine... it was a mech. friend of a friend that told me that model car with the 3.8 that both sensors where contained in one module and seeing as I can find one for a 3.1 for that same car and same year and not the 3.8 I am starting to believe him..... as a update I have also found that the fuel pressure is low, doing a driving test with the meter coming out of the hood i found that it puts out between 35 lbs at normal speeds and at idle and max of 42lbs. at WOT and if i read the on-line manual correctly it should be between 50- 60 lbs... so i will be changing that as well at this rate ill have a new car when im done LOL... ill update my post as i make that repairs.... agin thanks to all who have replied to my post....
