The only purge solenoid I know of is by the engine and is part of the HVAC system.

dont you think that fuel pressure sensor just tells if the tank has low pressure and senses a leak ?? This seems like a vent is plugged sometimes or something ....

It'* possible. But the research I did points to the pressure solenoid.

humm again, the info on the pressure sensor doesnt say it relieves pressure only moniters if there is too low pressure and then sends a signal there is a leak....make sense ?

I am not sure even what causes pressure but I know when the CEL goes on there is major pressure in the tank when you remove the cap..

I just would like to know for sure

when the PCM receives a signal that there is excessive fuel tank pressure, it will force the system to purge.

If the purge valve was bad you would have a P0443 code. It can't purge if it'* never told to do so.

Coming into this thread new.. it'* very confusing.

There are two cars in your sig and this is in the "other 3800 powered cars". This should be you are talking about the Park Ave, is that correct?

First thing to do is pull that access cover and diagnose where the leak is located. Right now you don't appear to know if this is a broken or punctured fuel line, a leak in the tank or a bad seal on the pump/soleniod unit.

Pull the access cover in the trunk to get a better diagnosis of what is leaking. Without inspecting, all our diagnosis could be so far out of left field that we may be in another country.
