Default No crank/no start. Different factory system.

96 regal custom 3.8. Everything else lights up/works but no crank/no start. My service manual shows a single relay and security module behind glove box. I don't have that, my car has three relays. Looking at the relays and schematics i should have a large yellow and a large purple wire and i don't. I do have a medium purple but it goes to the heater fan. The right side relay has two small yellow wires one of which goes to the neutral safety switch but nothing else matches up. Where do i find the correct start relay diagram? The closest diagram i could find that matches this mess thought it might be a factory remote start system. Any help?

Welcome to the forums.I do not have wiring schematic for your car however..
In the 1996 regal owners manual it mentions the starter relay is #11 not sure if that is a fuse but sure looks like one, at ( 6-54) also there is ignition ECM battery & ECM IGN at ( 6-56) relay
Hopefully others members may be of more assistance..

Here'* the starting system. The relay used is activated by the theft module.
Tell me what systems you need diagrams for and I can get them to you.

Before digging through the wiring too much I'd look at whether or not power is getting to the starter in the first place.

I've never heard of factory remote start on anything from this era. As far as I know, nothing from GM had remote start back then.

Agreed. Start with where you are not getting voltage.

Verify with a MIULTIMETER, and NOT a test light that you are getting starter relay voltage when the key is turned.

Also verify that the SECURITY light is not illuminated

Ok, i've thru all of the above. I have had that schematic. What i need is info as to where this module and relay actually is. It is Not behind the glove box. There are some relays and a control box for the hvac system there. The line drawing in the manual are horrible, from what me and 2 other people can decipher this security relay might be Above the glove box. I can't see any way to get in there except by taking the air bag out or the dash pad of. What little i can see with a mirror show a module of some type in the nose of the dash above the latch catch for the glove box. How do i get in there?

Tell us where you have taken voltage readings. You should have taken them at the starter solenoid at least.
I have the factory info but you need to give me an idea what you need. Seems your car doesn't match my info or you are not looking in the correct places. I think my info is correct.
