Ah okay, I thought you meant in the spare-tire well.

Yeah, Human can do like Dalton if he wants:

From what I've read, hybrids like mine came standard with a compressor. ostensibly to save weight and thus maximize gas mileage. The V6 variant came standard with a mini spare but the buyer could opt for a compressor instead in exchange for a $100 credit. I assume the same is true of other models based on the Epsilon platform, so compatible spares are a bit of a rarity. I checked with a couple of junk yards around here but they didn't have anything that would work but I found an OEM spare tire and jack from a 2016 Lacrosse on eBay for less than half what the Modern Spare kit cost, and with free shipping, so I went ahead and ordered it. Maybe I'm being silly, but I'll feel much more secure with a spare tire in the trunk. I've had flats in the past that a compressor wouldn't fix. And yeah, I do miss the days when cars had trunks big enough to accommodate a full size spare. The last car I had like that was also a Buick--a '77 Skylark coupe (Nova clone) that I had in college. That'* been a long time ago.

That sounds like the way to go . . . and I totally understand. A shredded tire or slash or fast leak will strand you without a spare. Or a devoted fan club as in Dalton'* case.

Default My Lacrosse now has a spare

UPS delivered my OEM spare tire kit today and everything looks good. The mini spare and the tools that came with it all appear to be brand new and unused. I measured the lug pattern and distance between adjacent lugs and skipping one match up, measuring center to center. The only thing that'* a little off is the screw-down retainer disc that holds the tire in place in the well. The threads for the one that came with the kit were too small for the shaft that held the compressor. Go figure. Maybe it'* a difference in model year. Fortunately, the spare tire retainer was in two pieces and snapped apart easily so I just used the outer 'washer' portion with the small wing nut that held the compressor in place. It may not be perfect but it sure beats trial and error at the junk yard. So now I have the best of both worlds with the compressor and a spare in the trunk so in the event of a flat, I can use whichever tool is appropriate. That said, I doubt I'd try the sealant since it'* almost two years out of date.

Sounds like you're all set. I hope you never have to use any of it.
