Default MY 2001 LeSabre won"t start

Today I had a flat tire. I plugged a Craftsman pump into the cigerette lighter to fill the tire. The pump died and the engine shut off. I tried starting the car but it would not turn over, nothing. I have all my electric,i.e. lights radio, etc. is there a reset button or did I fry something

Sounds like you blew a fuse/relay.. I'd start by checking both ignition fuses

Remove both of the battery cables from the battery and check for corrosion.

Both of them should not look like the one on the right.

x2 on the fuse/relay popping. Check the fuse box under the back seat. Those cigarette lighter receptacles are not designed to handle high amounts of current, which your tire compressor probably required while actively running.

Even if he did pop a fuse, it wouldn't shut the whole car down. I'm suspecting the battery/cables.

The car ran perfectly until the tire pump incident. I know how to check for blown fuses but how can you tell if the relay went bad?

I am with Mike on this one, check your battery cables, I have never heard of anything blowing a fuse or relay and it shut a car off that was running, the only fuse that I know of that may be able to do that would be the fuel pump fuse, or relay.
And I am pretty sure those are on a totally separate circuit.
