Lesabre 2003 2800 engine noise
160 K miles
Getting noise frm the Eng. tap,tap..... or tick tick....
Hard to tell where is is coming from, thought it might have been something from the main belt, alt, water pump etc..
but not sure.
Other than that maybe tappets ??
any ideas ?

Betting it'* a typoed 3800 engine. 
Agree:
1. Remove the belt
2. Start it
3. Is tap still there or not?
4. Shut it off
Don't let it run for more than a minute with the belt removed if it is already warmed up.
