ok so basically next thurs i plan on making a 10 hr drive in the dark. i was wondering if the 99 park ave has the wiring already on the non hud cars. if not ill just say forget it and set to cruise. just curious. if you guys arent sure, how do i remove the black front most piece where the defroster is? i included a pic
Many people have researched this, and the consensus is that if your car didn't have it from the factory, then you're in for a lot of cutting and wiring. But it'* plenty doable if you're committed.
Who are the many people Colin? There'* no cutting needed unless the car never came with a hud available dash.
PA'* had the option of HUD. HUD in itself is 8 wires to hook up. There'* a post or two here where I helped a couple guys put it in. Overall it'* easy once the dash is on the floor.

99% of the cars don't have that harness though. Certain years GM put things like that in, most years it didnt' exist.
I pulled a few 92-99 H/C body dashes and never found anything extra. Kinda wished for it though.

It'* just an unbolt dash, wire up 8 or so wires and bolt the new dash in place.
Ok, maybe I make that sound easy, but it'* a cosmetic type of mod that doesn't take extensive tuning or drivetrain work.
