Ahh - OK. Was that an after-the-fact fix that they came up with?

While we're talking part numbers, there is a stud that apparently had a **** screwed onto it to hold the cowl cover on it that was missing. I improvised a screw on ****, but do you know a part number for the factory one?

Also - you mentioned a rubber strip that had to be right. I didn't mention it, but in the process of trying to figure out where the leak was coming from, I did notice the rubber strip that I think you're talking about - it'* maybe 18" long and is similar to door molding - I noticed it was loosely clamped, and before I realized the problem with teh baffle/vent, I thought maybe water was working thru that piece, so I removed it and squeezed it tighter for better clamping, and befire re-installing it, filled its channel with RTV.

The part number I had mentioned replaces both the strip and the deflector/venty thing. It seals the area from water dripping and is really amazing. I've only installed one so far and it'* a nice piece.

As for the **** thing, I dunno....I'd pick one up at the JY and let the guy laugh at me when I ask how much.

Does any of this apply to a C Body 96 Park Ave?
I know I have a leaky trunk area due to the break light housing seals, but I have occasionally seen a little water in my front floorboards, and I do not think it comes from the break light housing seals.
