Check your fuel pressure. Also, leave fuel pressure gauge on with key off, does the pressure hold or does it drop off?

20 psi is not the same at 48psi. One the car will run, the other, not so much. Because you said the car was trying to start, this tells me fuel.

Should be around 45 or so. Shut the engine off and watch the pressure for about 10 mins. does it drop off?

Unhook the FPR, what does the pressure do? This is with the engine running.
