could the upper intake cause this problem? I have checked to see if there are any coolant leaks, but found none

Really need to do some tests and get some numbers. Fuel pressure is a must.

i just replaced the fuel pressure regulator after it has been sitting for 6 hours, it started right away and ran fine for 20 minutes and then the check engine light came on again, i will let it sit for a few minutes and try and start it and see what happens

what type of specific numbers or readings should I get when connecting a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel pressure regulator as the, are engine runs and when I shut off the engine are the readings to remain the same when the engine is on and off?????

Normally you would connect a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail. We'll want to see what pressure it is showing ignition-on engine-off and what pressure it maintains with engine idling.

got the fuel pressure gauge hooked up and pressurized the system, got a reading or 17 and one half, started the car and got a reading of 20 PSI, let it run for 5 minutes and shut of the car , watched the gauge and it stayed at 20 PSI for 5 minutes then I unhooked the the gauge, the results with the engine running and off was a steady 20PSI

Is your gauge okay? The pressure should be about 50 to 55 PSI. I wouldn't think it could run at all with it at 20.
