I'll have to read those.

Yes my friend had the 79 Riviera with the 350 in it. I thought the Riv right before that (the rear wheel drive 77 and 78 Riv) was nothing special, and pretty boring compared to the other ones. I saw one yesterday. But before that you had some serious style, including the boattail Riv.

You dont think I knew that ? it said until Aurora. Although some would like to deny that the Aurora was the new Toro. Why ? Because it was a 4dr ? Same idea, same concept, different name, extra doors.

So there are chains from the transmission to the axles at the wheels?

FD - from the local want adds - 1978 riviera
403, V8, auto, wht ext & int, chrome wheels, no rust, runs great, $900 B/O Glenmont, NY (51 478-9562. There is a picture of it also. Sounds like a great buy, 403'* got some torque left, castrated but still BIG. Yes these were the "flat" years but I can deal with this one better than the 79-85. There was one 77-78 on Ebay last year had pictures of the white leather interior, it was awsome. The 74-5 &6 was still kinda cool. Looked at one of them same year I got the 75 Delta conv. The 66-67 & 68-69 are my favorites. Your into dashes and gauges have you seen the barrel speedo ? I believe they are all still working too. Older dashboard werent much though, untill you go back to the early 60'*. Have you seen the Chrysler Sperical dash gauges. WOW - digital dashes bow defeated !

No the chains not like that. Read that first link again it explains it more clearly. Im sure there were typical upgrades to the original system every now and then.

GM is good at doing that. Like the Achievas thawn are the Aleros now or the the Cutlass Supreme is the Intrigue and the Cutlass is the Culass Ciera.

That barrel speedo - is that the big round one? I think I've seen it. The body style right before the 77-78 RIV is cool. Then the boattail right before that.

I'll have to see some pictures of the Chrysler speedos.

I like the 79 to 85, too! Even though it looked very close to the Eldorado/Biarritz and the Tornado/Caliente. Kind of a pimpin car.
