never buy junk yard vacuum line it will be worse than what you are replacing. its best to just replace with new everything because they dry rot like tires and the other thing its hooked to controls the fuel pressure and the engine will run poorly when that starts leaking again. so you have two options one is the easiest to get, tee adapters and two sizes of vacuum line and hook it all back up with new line. should be available at any parts store. other is the dealer which is what i did when my boot went, but the line is not drawn well on the gm parts diagram and if you get a inexperienced parts guy who knows what you are going to get. i asked to look at it myself and he said fine, its drawn and labeled as a fuel hose or some sort of hose it said but when you get it, its the while line assembly with rubber ends where it hooks to the tb/fpr/and purge solenoid. it was only like 30 bucks a few years ago

I had the same concerns about junk yard... doesn't seem like the replacement plastic & rubber would be in any better condition than mine that just broke. Maybe I'd find a 2005 L36 that would at least be a little newer than my 2000.

Yep that'* exactly what I need. But I also like the idea of "building" my own assembly for a few bucks worth of parts (different sized lines and a few T'*).

That part from the junkyard will be fine......you will know right away when you try to remove it.....if it falls apart it'* bad....if it doesn't, it'* good....

yup junk yard part will do fine...I replaced mine on my Park Ave with one from a junkyard...no problems at all.look for a 2004 or 2005 Buiclk Park Ave or Lesabre..I found one with 33k miles and all the parts were like new...

Then keep that stupid motor cover off and enjoy your 1.00 junkyard part....it will be fine

just because it doesnt fall apart doesnt mean its good, rubber gets hard and doesnt seal anymore and miles dont matter. either does you leaving the cover off, the person who had it before you didnt

anyone who has experience with intermittent engine issues with older cars wouldnt take a dollar for old rubber lines and ends let alone give anything for it

whatever makes you happy...ive used them many times with ZERO issues..there is one on my 99 Park Ave now that came from a junkyard and the car has close to 300k on it...and about 150k since the 1.00 line and ends...again do what you choose but I for one and I know many others have never had any issues...

Sometimes people go way overboard and over think everything....

Also ...the lines are NOT rubber they are plastic with barbed/expanded ends..the connections are rubber...jsut an fyi

I pieced mine back together today after purchasing 1 foot of rubber vacuum line and a couple plastic barbed connectors. Pretty cheap option with a few new parts anyway. The gas cap error code didn't go away yet, but I'll attempt to force a reset later by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes.

just take the car to an Advanced Auto and use their scantool...clear it that way

Yeah I tried that... their claim was "technically we are not allowed to CLEAR the codes, we are just supposed to READ them and tell you what'* wrong". Never heard that one before, and rather than drive around to some other store it'll just be easier just to pull the battery cable for a few minutes when I get home.
