Default fan help needed. URGENT

hey all. i would put this in my project thread but i really need help fast. apparently my thermostat switch is out. i drove down to memphis a day early yesterday, after replacing the $300 wheelbearing got about 2-3 hrs out and get a low tire light. might be the new abs sensor idk, but i made sure they were all at 35 and reset it. everything went smooth till i hit traffic in downtown memphis. i stopped at my gf'* work and went to start the car and it cranked for like 15 seconds with no start. so i sat there, told her awesome put my foot about halfway and it started fine. hit the dic, because the temp guage was vertical, and it said 220f! so, i nursed it home for the remaining stop and go stopsign 30 min drive to her place. when there was a decent 35mph area it would go down to 195 pretty quick. im gueessing because of my huge grille. but what i made this thread to ask is there a way to jump the relay holes in the fusebox? it uses 2 relays, one is main and the other is backup or something. is there a way to jump the holes to get the fans to start without starting my car on fire? i plan on staying here till the 2nd and i have like $200 till then so i cant afford to be replacing stuff in an apartment complex parking lot.

Did you try turning on the AC? That should turn on the cooling fans. If not, you may want to check the fan fuses. There are 2 fuses and 2 relays. They kick on at different temps. I believe it'* around 226* The no start sounds like something else.

As long as coolant is moving, and that has nothing to do with the fans, the engine wont over heat as long as your moving. Fans only turn on when the car is not moving or the AC is turned on.

well the fuse is good, and the a/c turns on the fans. what im concerned about though is goin places with her. memphis, you cant go more than about 20 feet without hitting a stopsign or light. what is the highest safe running temp?

p.*. sorry for that panic attack, just concerned being over ten hours from home with $200 to my name lol.

Turning on the AC will turn the fans on. And if you run the heat that will draw some heat as well. I've seen my temp gauge get kind of high in traffic jams.

As mentioned, you can easily nurse this one along until you get back home to fix it. You have said it yourself that the fans turn on when the A/C is running, and I don't start to worry about breaking stuff until about 230-240*, you can easily turn the A/C on in stop and go to get the fans on and get it cooled back down.

Keep an eye on it, and stop freaking out. Fix it when you can, sooner rather then later.
