driver information center on instrument cluster gone beserk
The driver information center display on my 2001 lasabre has gone crazy. this is the display that shows odometer, gauge information fuel information etc.
sometimes on start up it will display nonsensical numbers and symbols some what like a computer program. Sometimes there are just blank spaces that are lit up and other times it is normal.
Can anyone tell me whats going on.
any ideas appreciated

I haven't posted any pics yet because it has been working fine ever since my last post.
It must be a loose connection or something similar. It will be back. I'm sure it didn't just fix itself .

no, I've tried that a couple of times from different angles. I think its to well insulated from the shock for that to work. Sometimes it will work OK for a week or so and then it goes crazy for a while. No pattern that i can see. I would like to get it off and check the wiring and solder joints.

A little off topic here but Tech you made me laugh as that dredged up old memories of when I was much younger. My Dad had a 58 Ford pickup with an AM tube type radio that often times you had to slam on the bottom part of the dash to get the thing to work. I think in the case of the OP you're wondering about connectivity issues, as far as my Dad'* old Ford radio I'm sure it was dust causing connectivity issues also as it was a farm p/u.
