Cool

well today it was 95 out and the digital read went to 233 before it started to drop back....I dont ever remember it doing this before..it runs around 210 when on the highway when its this hot out but goes up to 225-230 when stop and go driving, still think thats normal ?
Is there anyway to make it run cooler w/o reprogram which I have no way to do ? Is this a waterpump problem ?? The rad is clean as I always flush it thru the rad and heater core and the coolant looks great...

The only way to get it to run cooler is with a lower thermostat, like a 180*. Thsi will be fine when driving even without reprogramming the PCM. But when you stop moving the fans still wont come on until the same temp. And that is a retune. If the car can be off the road for about a week you can ship the PCM to me for a retune.

Dan, naw I need the car daily, for the offer though...I believe I have the 180 stat drilled now...I still dont understand, didnt you guys say whenever the ac is on the fans are on at high ??? My ac is on all the time so what makes it cool down when it gets to 230 ??
How much does it cost for a reprogrammer ?

Your fans have two settings, low, and high. The AC is low speed. When the coolant reaches 226* high speed kicks in.

Make sure your radiator is clean. If it'* all full of bugs it wont cool as well as it should.

A programmer is going to cost more then you want to spend. Mine is over $500 for just the software and cable.

Because the engine cools down I don't see the water pump being the problem. But I guess it'* a possibility. Might just be moving coolant a little slower. Could be clogged hoses. Could also be your drilled thermostat. I never recommend drilling out a thermostat. That prevents it from doing it'* job right.

Wouldn't that depend on how its drilled? I drilled a couple very small holes in the very edges of mine in the frame.
