I've never used anything on the threads and tightened them to 89 in/lbs on the first pass

I always used Loctite Threadlocker.....believe it was part of a kit, with new studs/nuts/gasket, for problems with throttle body leak of coolant....

cleaned out the throttle with the CRC intake cleaner with all the sensors off.

however the IAC is dirty . wondering if it would be safe to clean it with the CRC intake cleaner?

the mafs had a little shred of material rolled around the sensor, happy got that off

Its okay to use cleaner on the pintle surface only. Do not get any inside the actuator.

cleaned the pintle fine with the crc throttle, however looking at photos of iac they have a bronze pintle ... mine is silver , mexican made


is this sensor PCV? cant find anything from that acronym

No, the IAC is not a sensor. It'* a vacuum control valve. The PCM uses this to control the idle. Kinda like a automatic choke on a fuel injected car.

should be sealed by the map on that and its easy to check if you want, just shake it should sound like something is loose in there. if not its stuck, no good
