Default 98 LeSabre wipre motor replacement

OK I searched the forum and was referred to an Auto Zone step by step for replacing the wiper motor. The procedure is good but they left out the part about the plastic vent screen/ cover being under the windshield. I have all the fasteners out but it appears jammed between under the windshield and passenger wiper thing. I loosened the wiper thing with little success.

What'* my next step? Heating the plastic so it is more pliable and will slip over the passenger wiper thing? It is really hung up under the windshield center. Dang.

What I referred to as the "passenger wiper thing" is called a transmission assembly in the diagrams. It is the post the wiper arm attaches to. It prevented me from getting the air inlet screen off by pulling toward the front of the car.

By working the air inlet screen I made sure both sides were free. Then I pulled side to side to loosen the screen at the center of the windshield. Rather than pulling to the front I pulled to the drivers side while lifting to clear the transmission post. It came off without breaking the windshield or other parts.

The rest of the job including putting the air inlet screen back on was easy by comparison. The motor is in, works and the screen is in place.
