97 Park Avenue Ultra Camshaft Sensor
I have searched high and low for any documentation regarding the replacement of the camshaft sensor on a supercharged 3800. The NA 3800 is a relatively easy replacement but on this supercharged version I have yet to locate the sensor or wire, even with a borescope. I suspect this going to be like changing the belts and involve motor mounts again. Does anybody have any experience changing this sensor?
Symptoms started a few weeks back with a harsh stumble and SES / check engine light illuminating, storing P0341, but the car ran seemingly fine. The stumble frequency increased over the last week.
Just to be sure, and it'* easy, I swapped out the ignition control module and the problem persisted. '
Yesterday, the car started and idled normally. I drove three miles into town and at the stop light, idling normally, it stumbled and stalled when the car begin to move forward. I had the car towed home and found it would move fine in reverse but never forward. The battery voltage plummets down to 11.8 range when its stumbling, before dying. New battery installed as the old one was honestly a full nine years old. The alternator was rebuilt a few months back. I really think I need to replace camshaft sensor first and I am hoping this stalling problem goes away.
167,000 miles on the car and it was in the Nevada desert most of its life. The car seems to run and drive fine until it warms up in a couple of minutes, again, leading me to wonder if the camshaft sensor it the cause.
Thanks in advance for any guidance on camshaft replacement on the mighty L67.

I would clean all the grounds you can find before doing anything else.

Yeah, I've seen the AllData pics and other similar diagrams but they always show the normally aspirated diagrams, never the supercharger version. It appears to be hiding behind a motor mount or pully bracket. These diagrams and instructions are always easy for the base engine.
Grounds and positive connections all cleaned a few months back, along with rebuilt alternator installed then, addressing a different issue. I replaced the battery this weekend and everything is very clean.
