Default 2011 Regal Key Fob

The key fob for my 2011 Regal Turbo broke. Specifically the metal part that swivels where the key blade attaches cracked and the blade itself came out. I ordered a new fob, and it is coming with a blank key blade. I see the key blade is held in place by a small pin. The question is, would I be able to pop that pin and put the old key blade onto the new fob and have it work once the new fob is programmed to the car, or do I need to get the new blank cut and and programmed?

Thanks in advance

Maybe.

If it is possible, you should try disassembling the broken one to see if it is possible. I don't know of anyone who has done this
