I just replaced the ECM and accelerator pedal a month ago because it was going in 'limp mode' 25 mph, $1,200 dealer price. I brought it to local mechanic first test to problem and said it was ECM and I had to go to dealership to "program", he wasn't licensed to program it. $125
Anyhow, i might have to suck it up and pay the dealer rates for another computer.🙄

Here is something else to consider. At this point, why not buy HP Tuners & read your program from the PCM? Then buy a couple of used PCMs on Ebay with the same Service number? In the end, you'll probably spend less than what you did the first go around but you'd have a spare PCM and be able to adjust your tunes going forward if you like. I think it would require (4) HPT Licenses (for the two used PCMs). You have to enter your VIN and push your PCM program to the used PCMs. It won't cost a license to read your program from the existing PCM. I just hate to see you give the dealer another grand and run the risk of this happening again. At least going this way, you'd be self sufficient going forward. You could contact HP Tuners support and talk to them to ask questions before you decide which way to go.

I still haven't heard of anyone doing a good diagnosis. Did the independent shop give you any details as to why they condemned the ECM and the pedal sensor?

Shop tested old and new gas pedal they where good and checked ecm for loose wires, grounds, same conclusion. Now the BCM shows error codes, but, car runs fine. I don't like the Evap Errors, after I replaced gas cap and purge valve.
