Default 2003 Regal 3.8 Eng Oil Pan Gasket

Man what a pain. Anyone ever do this? I have removed/disconnected everything that the shop manual says to. I have lifted the eng up but still cannot get the pan to clear the frame. The manual says that I need to get a frame support jig and lower the frame. Do I really have to do this? I was thinking of just loosening the frame bolts but did not want to knock anything out of alignment. Any ideas would GREATLY be appreciated.

You can lower the sub frame and it will not change any of the alignment. Just be watchful for any wires or pipes that are attached. Also, the steering rack. If you lower it to far it will come off the column, and that is a major pain. Best to undo the two bolts holding the rack in place and push rack up.
