Default 2001 Le Sabre maintenance / repair history

I've had my 2001 LeSabre 3.8 for 2 years and 8 months now. Only put about 5000 miles on it.

So far, these are the maintenance and repairs I've made had done:

2 - Mobil-1 LOFs
Left rear engine mount
Both valve cover gaskets
Coolant elbows (in tensioner)
1 - Ignition Coil (6/3)
Coolant reservoir cleaned (old coolant stains)

A/C Compressor - Accumulator - Orifice - Refrigerant (all-in-one kit for warranty)

Serpentine belt

OPS (with Driver Info Center digital readout) still pegged at 129 PSI, as it was when I purchased the car. All oil leaks have been taken care of and it'* not burning oil so I ignore the OPS problem, especially since my Buick dealer wants $300+ to replace it.

Original intake seals are holding (fingers crossed). Brakes pulsate - planning to replace pads and rotors in 4-5 months.

Continue to experience master door switch problems which are temperature related. The windows, locks, and mirrors will not operate from the master switch in cooler weather. Once it gets up in the high 80s - low 90s everything works fine for about 6 months. Then the cycle begins again. Ok by me.

I don't know how old the coolant was when I purchased my LeSabre - looked brand new. It'* been 32 months now and I know it should be flushed and refilled. That'* next.

I would check the wire harness in the loom between the door and the A pillar.....

Ever check actual pressure with a mechanical gage? Could be the sender.....easy fix, located near the oil filter....

About all I can do with that harness from door to A-pillar is wiggle it some. I have no tools or ability to diagnose/repair the problem myself.

I have not checked the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge. The bad OPS was diagnosed by the selling dealer a couple of years ago and wanted over $300 to replace it. I had planned to replace it myself, but had to take care of other engine related stuff first.

I have no idea. The sensors I've been looking up online were well under $100.. many around $50. Now if those online prices are accurate, the dealer was going to charge around 3-hours labor..! I even emailed the service manager and he verified their pricing @ $300+

I worked and managed GM parts departments and jobbers for over 30 years - I knew something was wrong.

As far as your oil pressure reading being incorrect it'* probably the sending unit. It'* located by your oil filter. http://www.autozone.com/fuel-systems...tch/971569_0_0

No tools needed...open door and remove the loom end from the door.....then pull on each individual wire...one may just break off....

I have a general question:

The FAQ'* section still shows post editing is possible using the EDIT button. I no longer see this button on my posts. Has the option been removed?

Regarding installation, yeah it'* not too bad. My biggest problem is that mine went out during a fairly serious snow storm so every step involved freezing hands on freezing tools while rolling around in a foot of snow. In my case, "went out" meant it read fairly accurately while dumping about a quart of oil on the ground for every minute it idled. I was lucky it didn't decide to do this out on the road somewhere.

Regarding the pressure sensor, that looks correct, however, I'd go with a Delphi or Napa unit such as: https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/ECHOP6719

Regarding the [edit] button, yeah, looks like it'* gone. I hadn't noticed until you mentioned it.
