1997 skylark intermittnat start problem
Hello , i am a new member looking for help with my 1997 buick skylark. Sometimes when i go to start it, it will start run for 1-2 seconds and die. usually i can feather the throttle and get it to run. It will do this if it is hot or cold, but some days it runs fine. I took it to my mechanic and there was a code for the crank sensor, and he replaced that. it ran good for about a week and a half then it started to do it again. The problem is only when you first start the car, once it is running it will idol forever, and it has plenty of power on the road and has never died while moving. I am at a loss here. Has any one expierencied ant thing like this before??
Thanks, Scott

If your feathering the throttle to keep it running on a cold start, but its fine after its warm, I'm leaning towards the IAC(idle air control valve) on the throttle body. They tend to gum up with carbon and close the gap some preventing air from entering the throttle body.
You can try and remove it and clean it with some carb cleaner. If that doesn't help, then maybe replacing it might work also.
