Default 1993 Buick century special 3.3l

Just curious if anyone has built 3.3l v6 before if not I’ll gladly be that guy. Seen a few cam kits for 4k,4.8k,5k rpm I don’t I need it honestly I think it’* pretty quick off the line for being stock
I’ve been looking alot for any kind of info about upgrading this only seen a cold air intake and a cam kit. Besides that one random single turbo 90’* Oldsmobile cierra/cutlass on yt pushing 222hp out of a 3.3l v6 witch I plan on doing after I rebuild it Not looking to swap engines just look for hp

I've never heard of anyone with an inclination to build a 3.3 until now.

This will be an interesting one to follow!

Why not build a decent engine. The 3.3 is junk.

I guess any engine can be built. The question is how much money and time you want to put into it. The 3.3 wasn't ever popular to upgrade that I've ever heard of.

They are a short deck Buick V6 that is durable and economical, They are still slightly rough due to the lack of the counterbalance shaft, though it is cast and partially machined for it. They never got Sequential Fuel injection, just multiport, no EGR and no MAP sensor. It was introduced for the 1989 models, along with the 3800 V6, to replace the 3.0 and 3.8 V6 as a true even-fire engine, eliminating the last vestiges of the cylinder offsets from a cut down V8. They also eliminated the miserable nylon coated, pot metal camshaft timing gear that had plagued the FWD versions of the Buick V6. The heads are the same (allegedly) has a 3800 V6, but they do get an extra hole machined in them for the 3800 application.
I am only aware of the one build with the turbocharger as well. IIRC, he has needed to go to custom pistons as he has found the original design to be on the more fragile side.

Since you gave me the most serious answer and seem pretty knowledgeable I have a question for you is the Pontiac 6000 one of the sister cars to this car like the Chevy celebrity and olds Cierra/Cutlass. If so do you think I could (obviously) modify the AWD system for the Buick. It is just a modified TH125 transmission that was used for the Pontiac id probably be better buying one lol but I just gotta have something nobody else does

Anything can be done, but the 6000 was heavily modified to accommodate the AWD system. You would need a complete car to make a transfer. The rear suspension is completely different, it used divided fuel tank with 2 fuel pumps, even the floor pan of the trunk is different. Lots of obsolete parts too, as so few were built.

Hopefully you don’t mind me bouncing around ideas but if the 3.8 head is allegedly able to fit would the turbo grand national head be usable or would it be different. I’m not trying to to for astronomical numbers in hp the more I think about it the more I realize I’m probably gonna have to swap for a 3.8 or massage a 4.3 in there from this rotted out Silverado I got high mileage but who cares you’re not having fun unless you got scared or broke something

A GN head will not bolt onto a 3300 Buick V-6 .
