Exclamation 04 Park Ave wont shift out of 1st...

Goes into gear fine and reverse works fine but it will never shift to the next gear. The carpet was wet so I took it out and all the wiring looks fine. What next?

No check engine lights. Fluid was a little low, so I added some lucas. Color is a little burnt but not super bad. Its not slipping at all and no clunking into gear.

No codes...Im thinking it is an electrical problem. The fuel pump was not getting power, so I pulled the carpet to see if there was any water under there. When I pulled the carpet the fuel pump started getting power and it worked fine for 2 days. I have not touched anything since I parked it where it is and now the fuel pump is not getting power again. The fuse is good, and the relay is good.

Disregard the part about the fuel pump. It was a loose connection....

I would look at testing the shift solenoids. I am not sure I can post links but you can do searches here and on the net for how to check shift solenoids.

Is your speedometer working?

From a dead stop, if you lay into the throttle, does it bog down, rpms top off at 3K rpms and not shift?

From a dead stop, if you very lightly accelerate and slowly get up to speed, will it shift into second?

Does the car "feel" like it is starting off in first or second?

Or, put it in manual 1....slowly accelerate to 20 mph, then manually shift to manual 2...does it shift?

Speedo is working. From dead stop, Punch the throttle and it jumps right out no problem. Accelerates great! It will redline if I let it. Does not shift even accelerating slowly. Definitely starts off in first gear. Does not shift manually at all, under hard acceleration or light. But, if I get up to 15 or 20 mph and let off the gas the rpm'* drop down like its going to shift but it still doesn't, like it drops into neutral when you let off the gas.
