Default What Temp?

What temp are the GXP'* supposed to run at, or what temp thermostat do they have? I was driving the GXP last night and it was at 200. The 95 Bonnie runs at 180 and my 93 GP runs at 170. I thought 200 was alitlle high, but maybe that'* what it'* supposed to be.

All things being equal, your Northstar should have a stock 180F thermo. Its an all aluminum engine, they get quite hot, yet cool very quickly as well.... 200F is fine. All underbody panelling and shielding must be there, as they affect engine temperature.

In metric speak, 200F is 93C and yes, 93C is very normal for my Aurora (similar engine)

had my gxp a week and a few days and it is always at 200 so i quess that normal,
my park ave runs at 210 and that worried me but the dealer said thats what thier set at. while there is a thermostat ,the pcm also effects temp with its settings , also a good shot of nitrous in a wot sends the buick up near 235

ya before i feel in love with my gxp(at first sight) i was into buicks/ride styling
and though it was feisty with the supercharged 3800 it could'nt bring the tuna boat even up to import sports car speed and i watch to much speedchannel/discovery
channels-its a 92 and I'lll probably keep it forever...but since i got gxp it'sgonna be feeling like an unwanted step child . nitrous setups are relativley cheap and so easy to install ,i dont know why more people dont do it ....cept for cost of refills - but speed cost money so how fast do ya want to spend

I was considering direct port in my Aurora many moons ago, but never went through with it. Its also not worth the risk and the refill cost as you mentioned.
