Has anyone experienced the trunk spring breaking in their Bonneville. This morning I was driving my GXP and I heard a loud shattering sound from the rear of the vehicle. The bang was loud enough that I could feel the vibrations. I pulled over not knowing what had happend. Checked the exterior of the car and all was fine. I opened the trunk which usually springs open. It did not so I opened it and noticed that the spring mechanism which runs from each hing was broken. Its only-10 C here, (14 F). Is this a common problem??
