Without knowing i went to the GM Autoshow In Motion a month or two back and got to drive the GXP. WOW! I loved it from first sight. They had a dinky little track to run it in and i drove it like it was a rental car. It was sad to walk back to my 1993 Bonnie. I may think of getting one off a lease once i graduate from college and get a good job... a boy can dream right?

I actually saw this car (GXP) on TV and knew right away that I wanted one. I watched as they took it for a stunt drive, making it take fast turns and brake in a short amount of space. I've been completely amazed ever since.

Yea the 300C has more HP, but it'* 0-60 time I believe is only 0.1seconds faster then the Bonneville.... it'* gotta haul that 5.7 Hemi around
But you are right... I would have expected more HP from the GXP.

I think they are keeping the HP low on the GXP because the GTO is only 350ish HP.
I really believe the GTO should be upwards of 380ish and the GXP should have at least 320.
no chrome wheels i dont want one no more

My neighbor has a GXP (works for a Pontiac Dealer...go figure). I absolutely love the car. It'* black, I love the interior, the exterior is very nice, especially in black (the red, and 'mother-of-pearl" white is gorgeous too). Some minor improvements can be done to the exterior, but I do like the refined edges overall.

The exhaust sounds great, on start-up too. I could hear my neighbor turn it on from down the street, I turned my head at the sound. I think there'* one more GXP still at the dealer...if I can't get a test-drive with that, I'll try to beg my neighbor to let me drive his.

I will still try to find a 2003 SSEi some day, but I would be completely happy with a GXP.

The one car I would LOVE to own would definitely be a Mercury Marauder. I don't know why, they're awesome. I worked at a Chevy dealer over this summer and there was one in the used car lot that i would drool over every day. Fun times....

One thing to note here. I was looking at one during the annual car show ( for classic cars) on Aug 1st weekend and they had brought it to advertise. It is the same engine as the Caddy and if you look at the HP ratings they are different. Can you say DE-tunned with the computer, hehe. The guy from the dealer was even telling me that. It wouldn't take much to get it back up there in HP with some computer tuning.

Its the SLS Cadillac 4.6 in there, its got more grunt off the line, but lacks top end, unlike the STS. Gotta remember, just because it has a V8 Northstar, doesn't mean its top of the heap. Cadillac will always get the more powerful engines

My neighbor says he saw a GXP on the road the other day with Pontiac-badged chromes -- though he couldn't tell if they were true chrome or the plasti-chrome covers like on his GTP.
Maybe this is what you saw. 2005 SLE
