Default Synthetic Oil

I want to switch the bonneville over to synthetic oil. I was wondering what oil you guys recomend? I was told it was better to switch to semi-synthetic for an oil change before going full synthetic, is this true or does it really matter? Also I was wondering if anyone had the part # for the k&n filter? Thanks for any responses.

I have heard that myself Jarvis and it'* makes no sense whatsoever. I ran the OEM oil for the first 1000 miles and dumped it out for Castrol Syntec. As far as name brand synthetics go, I believe they are aboiut equal. Take your pic and stick with 5W30. The all aluminum N* engine allows for oil to be used for longer periods.8 to 9000 miles. My oil monitor went to 15% left at 7000 miles and I changed it. It looked surprisingly light for the mileage. And I drive real hard. I let the dealer do oil changes, the K&N website will have the filter listed.
heres the web site

Its filter #HP 2006
