I had that come up once, but it was not on long and has not come back since.

I had that come up about two weeks ago. I checked the code with a Tech II.
It was C1288 - Steering Sensor Circuit Malfunction
I cleared the code and the message has come back on the DIC once or twice since. I've just ignored it since I'm out of warranty (58k miles) and don't want to pay for anything unless it actually causes a problem with vehicle performance.

Vince you have had more problems than anyone else with a GXP! Did you offend the GXP gods???

My came on once and went right out. I had just run over some gravel. Get a reading.. it will tell you why the message was triggered

Yeah I had the SSS light once as I was driving I turned the key to start to reset it and haven't had it since.

I am getting a low coolant level light when I park on any kind of an incline tho. Should check into that.

I wouldn't worry about it until it becomes a regular event.

But please do stay away from me. My GXP has been quiet and calm lately and I don't want none of that "GXP god anger" comin my way

I just had mine in the shop for it last week, It was the steering wheel position sensor was reading zero at all positions. Mine was fixed under warranty but I can dig out the paper work if your looking for a cost.
