Default Any sort of limited slip in GXP?

http://www.mustangforums.com/m_12393..._3/key_/tm.htm

These mustang owners apparently have some sort of limited slip in the rear. There was a clutch pack making the noise. They all thought it was power steering at first. Could the GXP have something similar in the front? (FWD) Anyway, maybe everyone with the problem can pay attention to see if it happens on dry vs wet roads, oh and snowy roads too. I just find this very interesting since the noise has only been around during the summer for me. If you believe there is no way it is anything other than the power steering please let me know.

Also: GXP owners, is this happening while you are moving or sitting still? I cannot reproduce my noise while sitting still.

Every GM I have ever owned has had the groan-y power steering pump sound... the GXP, the SSE, the Special Ed, the SE, the LE. All of them...

Maybe "groan" is not the correct description of the noise. Passengers reach for something to hang on to when this noise happens. They are afraid the car is coming apart. I just find it interesting that Mustang owners were chasing a power steering problem, which ended up being something completely different.

Hey Guys,

I realize this response is late but I had the same problem with a 2003 Cadillac STS. When I took it to dealer, they heard the noise and said it was a problem with the power steering pump assembly they use on the Northstar. They installed a pump kit (part number 88955485) from service invoice with a description of Pump Kit 6.605 R. This fixed the problem on that car and I no longer had the moans and groans. I hope this may help.
