you weren't faster stock though, stock for stock a gxp will take a ssei quite easily, id bet it could take a gtp too.

the thing is, say gm straped a supercharger on the gxp, and added, ummm $8,000 to the price (needs a better transmission too, 4t80e is rated for 305lbs of torque) , now its 46k. well, now the interior isn't up to snuff, so they make the interior better, than this isn't, the right, then that.... all said and done, its a $50,000 car, and out of many would-be buyers price range, and leaving gm without a mid 30'* performance luxury sedan.

i think the gxp does quit nice in its bracket, i do agree with the other post though, should have used the original grille, maybe well see it aftermarket?

The GXP is outgunned in its class stock for stock. The 300C is more than a match and the maximas are coming up quickly. Add 8K to its already overpriced based and it will be untouched by the massess.

I like my styling better and right now its cheaper to own and mod and SSEi, have the same level of comfort and better performance. A few years from now when the aftermarket performance parts for the N* are out it may be a different story. But by then you can get one used for 1/2 the price

Pontiac could sell the GXP for $35k and sell the supercharged GXP for $38-39k. A supercharged V8 in a Bonny would draw many customers. The interior is fine. The extra boost is what would get people running to the lots. The supercharger wouldn't add that much cost. Just compare SLE'* to previous SSEI'* costs when they were running mates. Throw a five speed auto in there and heck! I'd pay the $40k sticker before rebates. I gives 2 cents about suede inserts and chrome highlights in the interior. It was perfect in the SSEI as it was.

maybe now that Scott Cook has a GXP we will see some aftermarket parts for it.

Just steering a bit off course here, those 300Cs are causing quite a stir. A friend of mine at a Chrysler dealer told me all the Hemis are sold out; when was the last time we heard a domestic sedan sold out after a couple months? These 300Cs will dip into Impala, Bonneville, Regal, Park Avenue, LeSabre, Sable, Crown Vic, and even Accord and Camry buyer types.

At $22,995 starting price for the 2.7L V6 model, the 300 can enable a regular everyday driver to feel like he/she is driving a Bentley. It really does look more royal than any sedan under $50,000. It looks almost as good as a $70,000 Audi A8.

Chrysler has the Hemi 300C, Pontiac has the N* V8 GXP, and Ford has ... :?:

Oh, and Cadillac has the LS6 CTS-V, of which I saw one today, and the guy driving let everyone at the intersection know it ( was pretty cool crowd there -me in my SSEi, guy next to me in an Audi TT, 2002-04 C5 convertable, Mustang GT Bullet, and a Mazda minvan, and of course the ever-present CTS-V which looked bad in black).

Has anyone here seen the 300C'*? I think Daimler Chrysler designed a good car, and gave the better front end to the magnum and the better rear to the 300C. So instead of one good car they have two half assed cars. I would not buy a 300C myself I think they are fugly. I have seen a few on the roads here, but I have seen a few GXPs too

4k for a supercharger? it would cost more than that. you cant just strap a roots blower on a high compression dohc car, i could see 5-6k. but then they need to make the trans stronger, the 4t80e HD maybe? 1.5k more? so 6-7.5k more? plus, try pumping 350hp into a fwd car, its never been done for a reason, torque steer. they could add a limited slip to help some, but it would still be pretty bad. the gxp wont break 300hp till it goes rwd.

a turbo or CSC would be nice to compliment that DOHC motor. turbo N* would rule!!!

Umm..this has been done on numerous cars. There are at least 4 or 5 gps and 1 ssei putting more than 400hp to the wheel down. LSD'* help with this problem.
