Ok, I finally get it now - there are 2 equally effective one-step ways of doing this. IMAHUSKER - my apologies - I incorrectly ASSumed you were pulling the relay.
2 Bonnies - Amen brother, I'm glad I finally got this done!

Do your parking lamps and tailights come on with your Foglamps on in the daytime and if not how did you keep them off? Thanks

yes they do. I think you'd have to rewire the fog lights to get them to come on without parking and tail lights

I have mine wired to run without any other lamps lit, just like the stock headlamp DRLs. Basically, there is a pin on relay 29 that activates the foglamps only when grounded. I will post up details - the hardest part is showing a diagram...I might have to resort to drawing it on a piece of paper and taking a picture of that.

True HIDs do run cooler even though they put out more light. This could be a good solution to do away with the halogen bulbs that continually burn out in these foglamps. I am interested in trying those myself.

I e-mailed a HID company about the heat of their bulbs and they said it goes by the Kelvan rating of the HID bulb and they have 5000K--8000K---10000K --12000K--15000K so I would stick wih a lower kelvan number bulb so you dont heat up the foglamp housing and crack it even though the lower number kelvan bul might not be as bright. The foglamp housings dont have as much area as a headlamp housing and would heat up more.Food for thought

Default Foglamps as Daytime running lights

I would like to hook up the foglamps very much now for DRL since I just found out that my headlamp wont work with the daytime running lights with the Xenon HID kit since they needthe extra voltage to work and the reduced voltage for the DRL isnt enough to power up the HIDs and keeps blowing the DRL fue.it seems the HIDs only take 35 watts instead of 55 watts for Halaogon but take more voltage than the Halagon and thas why they are brighter.Headlamps work fine with the HIDs for night driving with the full voltage

Am still wondering why disable the DRL'*? My insurance gives me a nice discount for having them. Plus the data for crash reduction with DSL'* is overwhelming and why Ins Co'* do the discount. Challweg thanx for te headsup about the HID'*. I see fine with the OEM'*. The foglamps arent made to run at at a lower wattage and since we cant seem to keep them burning for any length of time, I think hooking them up to the DSL circuit is just asking for more trouble.
