I really loved the car when I bought it and stilll "care" for the body style. But I have become increasingly frustrated with it and it seems like every week it'* something new. Just this past week the cig lighter fried and the acsess door flew apart. Now I find out the engine is a ticking time bomb and afraid to mod it further.

I have NEVER been so disapointed in a vehichle new or used in my life and as a very, very longtime GM buyer, I will never own another new one. This is compounded by the bullshit lack of support and service policy brought on by GM itself. My dealer doesnt like GM anymore....

I will most likely keep it, it does well "showing it", but it'* about to become a Sunday driver. I just have to much money sunk into it. As I look at the statistics of how other new cars are fairing, I feel like a ignorant ******* for defending GM or having GM pride ijn the least. The car has near 50 TSB'* and it'* ridiculous. I am still going to buy American. In the fall when my money straightens out, I'm leaning towards buying a Chysler product.

My friend has a 300 that is impeccably built, the body lines and fit are amazing compared to Pontiac and his car can kick mine'* *** without nitrous. It has never been to the Dealer for anything but oil and filter changes. Speaking of which My Dodge Ram 3500 Dually has 130,000 miles on it, tows near capacity all it'* life and has'nt had ONE thing go wrong with untill a few weeks back the drivers side door lock button fried. I love this club and dont want to offend, but I'm finished with buying JUNK.

GM has changed management and policy and has no pride in itself. They deserve every dollar of the 10 Billion lost and counting. "A " (dont want him in trouble.. a friend) salesman has told me they are in dire straights and I wouldnt believe how hard it is for them to "sell off" remaining 05 inventory. Or make a profit with 06 pricing .As a frequent new car buyer I say Goodbye GM< YOU SUCK

And for people I've ribbed for not having GM pride, my humblist apologies. Now I'm going to get the beer fog out of my head and give my Dealer a phone call from HELL
about issue'* they are obviously dragging their feet about.

I am going to be getting a 5 or 6 speed car soon but I will keep the GXP for now. I am leaning towards a 7 series or a Acura RL when I trade in this car next year. I am hoping to get at least $10,000 on trade....sheesh our resale sucks.

She still gets all the looks though...so who knows.

GXP Rules....um I mean Venom... You have too much invested in that car to give up. I would research an engine swap or custom superchager setup. I know that the shelby series 1 had a supercharged 4.0 N* so what superchager setup did they use?

Not to hijack this thread...sorry

I would get every pennies worth out of that gm plan.

I hear ya Sahdow , very clearly,. i have a sit down coming like Rye'* after my phone call. But doubt if any constructive will come of it except their jerking me around with warranty work. A */C 4.0 wouldnt give me the power i crave to make this 2 ton sedan move and really going to focus on a 350 swao. There are people that have done it with Olds 350'* and early 90'* caddy trannys,(not Bonnys) so that is the direction i'm heading. Sorry 4 rant.... was tuning up for Mr. Goodwretch. This thread was started about shoddy quality so I dont think your off topic.

I loath the idea of buying import but might go German in the fall, time will tell. But GM has lost a fan.

The big problem with the way your thinking is that the GXP PCM is Unmoddable and my thought as of now is rip the bastard out, AND GO OLD SCOOL with something I know more about and would dazzle at shows. I have a vision of two chrome Holley monsters sitting on a Edelbrock high rise from hell, transversly. Magneto driven (screw Delphi) with an older caddy tranny without e-shifting. Gotta get to town today but am anxious to start researching this.

GXP I meant ideas to supercharge your car with what they used for the 4.0. The pcm is a problem I didnt not really think about. Its a shame that pontiacs flagship vehicle is so full of problems and poor QC.

Sorry Vital got irked after waiting almost 3 weeks for parts and werent there....... Didnt need a sit down. A rep called me after my talk with Dealer. Dealer couldnt get parts till he has a appointment :? So I finally making time for one. Why they didnt call me and tell me policy????And I've been promised my issues will be resolved .
Body panels are pulling away from body,(those I didnt glue)
Cigarette lighter stuck in socket, Fuse blown and wiring stinks.
My HUD is starting to bounce now in rough road areas with 2300 miles on it.
Passenger door doesnt line up with body.
Plastic fasteners coming loose in fender wells and front deflector...Three are missing
The wind deflector was broken when I got the car, and didnt even know it had one till mentioned in club
Fog lamp harness will be replaced
Bottom trim piece running length of door has separated from rear quater panel and doesnt want to fit back.
Acess door to trunk is broke after using it twice.
On Star phone comes on by Self and asks me what number to dial after a hard biump(that one'* freaky)
Oil leak?? Ring blow by??Lost almost a quart of oil since Sythetic oil swap 1800 miles ago. Lost 1/2 quart of original oil in first 700 miles
Drivers seat goes back to stop sometimes and sometimes not. Makes it tuff to drive at 6' 3"
I really love the car and am picky, a $40,000 sticker should be a quality build.

wow, that is sad to hear about all your GXP problems...this just sort of confirms why i like the older bonnes better...i have only had regular maint problems with mine..it seems they just don't build a quality car at GM anymore! Now I have to say, those GXPs are REALLY something to stare at, but, thats about it.

Side note:
Hey Marauder, having fun with Hawaii'* premium gas prices?

Ohhh, you betcha...$3.49/gall for premium now, on Oahu. Kauai is up to $4.50/gall. I get a little bit of a break buying on NB Pearl Harbor ($3.35/gall) but I'm still looking at a big chunka change at fillup time...Got 19.2 mpg out of the last tank tho...

Sorry Vital...I promise, no more thread-jacking....

As with all cars, there are SOME lemons out there. Those that have them have to decide on the best course of action for them.

I know we have some trouble-free GXP'* here. That'* a bright thought. There IS hope. Just make sure if you have any issues, you take it to the dealer right away each time. Get all the issues dealt with EARLY so you can get the most from your warranty.
