I think he'* talking about sintered brake pads, originally for racing and now I see them more common in pruduction cars and bikes. They arent really for street driving but if you use them you should go all the way and get hard stainless rotors as well. They eat iron rotors like candy plus and cause incredible heat. I guess they would be the choice for drag racing where stopping quick without fade is a plus.
