I hear ya.
The traditional start of the new model year used to be Sept. , but they're a liitle more "flexible" now.
But they usually play the biggest game with new styles or releases. I can't remember who holds the record for the earliest launch, but it was something really stupid... like February.

could it have been one of the rebadged 04'* i know toyota and dodge are bad for that changing vins and knowing the sluggish sales of the 04 GXP that might be something to take into consideration.

You're not helping!!
That'* one I haven't heard before, but wouldn't surprise me.

What amazes me, is that even with all the GXPs on the dealer lots, they were still building them in May 2005. (blocker44 - did you order yours, or get it off the lot?)
And I could get virtually whatever color and options I wanted from dealer inventory several months ago!

Weird....
All these GXPs laying around, and GM kept building 'em for the lots. It'* not like they could make that many variations; there were only about 10 options.
No wonder GM'* in trouble.
