Climate Control Issues in '97 Aurora 4.0L
i recently purchased my '97 Olds. Aurora with 264k miles on it. Very used. Has some issues. Most normal for age and mileage. But some i can't figure out. For instance, my climate control/heater/AC only works when it feels like it wants to. The tempurature on the dash flashes for a while after starting the car. i have been told by a friend of mine(a bonneville owner and club member) that there may be a self diagnostic scanner in the climate control itself. Would like to know that button sequence on how to activate or even a solution if someone knows the answer. Still cold outside so i would like to have heat. Thank god it has heated seats. Also if anyone knows a few cheap maintenance and performance parts and procedures....feel free to share.
Thanks, J.R. (Aurora4.0L)

Are you running the climate control on auto, or manual? Is it blowing from some vents and not others? There'* a number of things it might be. There are a few write ups in the tech info section covering the HVAC system. Take a look and see if any of those help. If anything is unclear, just post it and we will get you taken care of.

No Blowin period...the girlfriend would slap me if she seen this...lol...it'* strange, when it doesn't blow it'* manual or auto. I can change the direction of flow and i here the motor turning the flap. I know that that is ok. It'* just choosie on when the motor wants to blow or not. Checked the power at the blower motor and motor is fine(blows good when jumped to constant hot wire). Got power at the switch. And the fuse is fine. I think it will end up being the Blower Motor Control Module. But am not familiar with climate control. This is the first car i've that has had problems with it. And tonight i replaced the thermostat (with a 195degree Thermostat) as the car idles at 250degrees. am having problems already as the car tries to overheat now. I think it is just air in the system that needs vented out. Am gonna check for a vent tomorrow. But will check the tech info to see if anything can catch my eye.
Thanks
Thanks
