Default Car Still Running

Has anybody heard or ran into this. I stop the car shut it off and remove the key, went to get some lunch and came out to get in the car and notice that the car was still running. Very confused. Would appreciate any input. Thanks.

What year is your car? Trim Level? Is it a GXP or Northstar powered car?

A lot more detailed information will be required to render any kind of assistance.

i've ran into that on both my bonne and my olds delta

are you sure you turned it off(stupid question but people do get in a hury)

or

the thing to do it to shut it off in gear and the put it in park and make sure to turn the key completely off and pull it out

now bonneville guys i know that that isnt a good fix but it will work until you get to the bottom of the problem

When I got back in the car I checked anything I could think of. Look at the ignition it was at OFF. Very puzzling. Have had a lot of Bonnevilles through the years. Haven't run into thios on any of them.
