Horrible service i must say. Especially for such a "premium" car.
It wasn't the dealers, the first dealer said the paint was bad. GM , their REP and the 800 # * said the paint was fine. I could not get the factory to meet with me or anything. It wasn't until I filed with the BBB that they had some else look at the car. It was another GM dealer who said the whole car had defective paint also. As I said from the beginng problems happen, it is how we handle the problem that says alot about us, but when the factory won't even discuse the problem it is time to move on. 13 new GM'* in the last 20 years and this is the way GM treats me?

Thanks, have about 500 miles so far. mpg about 24 (got about 18 in GXP but TL uses premium) miss the sound of the GXP, TL has more room inside both are good rides.

Not having much luck with the factory even after I explained to them i have purchased five new gms in the last six years. I am having pictures taken and will post them. VERY UNHAPPY :( :(
I also have '04 dark blue GXP (purchased back in May). I have EXACTLY the same paint issues that you have described! In direct sunlight you can see each pass the spray gun made when painting it (dark lines/light lines in horizontal passes). Then the tier 1 supplier parts (like door handles & fascia) are consistently darker than the rest of the car. The car looks beautiful in everything but direct sunlight. But then it really does look like a Maaco paint job!

Good luck on getting some response from GM!

If anyone needs help with this issue please let me know as I kept a file. You just need to document and follow through. GM hopes to frusterate you so you give up and go away. I got ALL my money back and once you file with BBB it doesn't take very long. I did end up going away, I purchased my first new non- GM. I hear this may be the Bonnevilles last year because of sales, maybe it'* not the cars but the people behind them.

That is despicable! And GM has the nerve to ask why they are losing market share?!! Betcha if there was just one SPOT on that TL, they'd gladly buy your car back and give you the keys to anything else on the lot. If sonething breaks on a domestic car-yes this incldes ford and Chrysler too-Y ou'd better get to love paperwork and buearuocracy.
