xm or sirrus people
hehe. well. I think gm picked a good spot.

except for cars, its on the back in the middle of the roof, the "sharkfin"
but I would think the easiest way, so that water can't wick into the interior (trunk incl), run it through the firewall and choose one side of the hood for it, if its black...it should blend right in with the blue.
otherwise the trunk, but the problem there is that, if you do it wrong, water can wick into there...and believe me, if you've never seen what comes from that...don't start now.
I like scott'* way. not bad.

We do a ton of Sat radio hard wires at my shop.
For the first 3 months I worked there, I followed the practice of the other installers and always mounted them on the outside of the vehicle until customers started coming back complaining of "no signal" problems.
It turns out that Sirus and XM'* antennas are not as weather tight as they originally thought.
Now we do all of our installs on the dash without any comebacks.

Dutch

I had xm on my 96 ssei and had the little display mounted where the gain for the stereo was. i took the gain switch out and made a bracket so it would mount where the switch was. it looked real good. and the antenna was mounted on top of the car toward in the back above the back window and had no problem putting it on or taking it off.I have a picture somewhere if i find it i will post it. but now i have a 05 Bonneville SLE and i got the sirius for it. I have the small thin display called Xact. and i put velcro on it and mounted it on top of my steering column and since its so thin it doesnt bother me at all and since i have a dash cover i have the antenna on the left side of the dash and it works great.
