Default xm radio

Had my Christmas present from my wife installed on Monday night. I'm very happy with it so far, haven't even listened to "regular" radio since. Only thing negative that happened was Best Buy forgetting to reconnect my steering wheel controls...but that'* been fixed. Cost breakdown
$99 for reciever
$69 for car adapter kit
$50 for fm modulator for xm radios
$79 for install
$39 for 4 year warranty
$40 in parts(if it wasn't a GM this would've been about $10)
$36 tax
total
$412
plus $12 activation fee and $9.99 monthly fee

here are the pictures
I really wanted this mounted under the gain control but was told the shifter would hit it while shifting into park. I'm happy where it is now.

XM is great. Once you here it you'll never what regular radio again. I definately had to have it living in Wyoming where all the radio stations suck anyway. Congrats on your new stereo. You'll definately love it.

Damn, they made the antenna smaller! Unique install spot, I really like it! I have a bench configuration, so I could'nt do that when I had my delphi unit in the car...(before it got stolen...)

The owner of the place that did my car stereo install just put XM in his car, he took his antenna to the pontiac dealership (that has a body/paint shop) and they painted it for him to match his car color, looks great! I need to contact Delphi to see if I can paint my antenna, it really does look good... I had my antenna on the inside, on the rear deck. It worked maybe 80% of the time, so I moved it outside. I get a signal even if I opent the trunk.

I was told that the antenna had to be mounted to metal and outside the car to work 100% of the time. You guys that have it mounted inside are you using the Skyhi receiver?
