Default Interior Lights and Bose Radio on My 97 SSE

Hello, 1st time poster here
Here is a couple problems I have with my 97 Bonneville. Whenever it gets wet (washed or good rain) the interior lights come on and stay on for 3 or 4 minutes. Sounds like a grounding problem to my, but does anybody no where to start?
Also my Bose radio display went out, anybody got any suggestions on how to fix or replace. If I replace with aftermarket will the volume, seek, scan ***** still work on the steering wheel

Default lights and radio

!st welcome to the club 2nd the lights I have to ask my mechanic that at dealer tomorrow 3rd the radio does it still work because i think anybody with the delco radio with the orange display has same prob. Either it reads greek and go back to normal or it just goes out. and getting another radio instead or the factory radio to use with the steering wheel controls you have to get a special piece from a radio shop , dealer or just use the remote that came with your new radio. ENJOY THE CLUB!

Welcome to our happy little clan!

As for your problem, try looking for any exposed wiring in the door conduit first. You know that big black plastic thing going from the door the the car body. The radio may have some internal lighting problems. As for aftermarket radios, most will NOT work with the steering wheel controls. Sony does offer an unit that will work but only if the Bonneville is 96 or newer. You see GM changed it'* wiring harness in 96 to OBD II & with it even the radio harness was changed.

Another thing you might also want to check is the light sensor itself for the sentinal lights.. but bare wires like the demi-god says would also be it..

You can install any aftermarket radio AND keep your steering buttons:
http://www.discountcarstereo.com/

Look for the link on the left-side menu labled "Steering Wheel Interfaces". There are quite a few different one there, and the prices are great.

All years of Bonneville are covered!
