I thought the aux. jack on the front was pretty cool, could you hook up an iPod (or similar mp3 player) using that. I really don't know to much about electronics, how would you hook up an mp3 player to to a receiver w/out that aux. jack on the front, is there something on the back?
And how do you 'hardwire' something like that?

you get what you pay for.. High end decks have less thd(harmonic distortion)
cheaper amps in cheaper radios will begin sending distortion to the speakers sooner due to the fact there cheap.. Plain and simple.. Distortion is bad, Distortion kills speakers, and thats why 90% of the people when I listen to there systems sounds like dirt,,
Your reciever is the single most important piece of the puzzle.. You can have JL W7'* and Arc Audio amps but with out a decent deck all your doing is amplifieing distorted signals
I cant stress this enough dont buy a cheap head unit.. You will regret it..
in closing AN AMP IS NOT JUST AN AMP..
Most distortion is poor setup. People tryin to run say component speakers off of a head unit at high volume. The amp Clips the signal, the speakers are far from power handling potential, but the clipping will destory them.
