i LIKE the sound best from a sealed box... but it doesnt really matter...

for the 2k i plan on doing a single sub mounted on the side, so i can still use the passthrough and all the trunk space...

i road trip a lot

Yes the alpine Type R'* are great. Look at those for sealed, my buddy just installed two of them in his RSX and they're unbelievable. And that'* with a Sony amp that'* only rated at 380 bridged. Those will handle 500 a piece. So go look at them

[quote="harofreak00"]what is the best single 12" sub i can get that will be powered off my rockford 801s

looking more for SPL, but SQ goes hand in hand...

800 watts RMS x 1 bridged output at 4 ohms

I have a Kaption SPL 12 in an SPL enclosure running 600W RMS @ 1Ohm
It is in the trunk of my '96 SSE and it slams the hell out of that car. I need to put sound deadening material on the car to get rid of the rattles. This Woofer is made in Toronto Canada and isn't that popular. If you have the means I recommend picking one up.

I built a box for one of these 15" subs before. He had it powered with a 2000 rms Soundstream amp. It was REALLY loud, the box was in the back seat facing towards the front. The first hard hit blew the seal around the back windshield.

Best bang for the buck my shop sell'* these for $220.
they are 1500w RMS 2000 Peak. Very good SQ and SPL Sub.
I have two in my bonne and they does 145 on the mic and I can beat on them every day and not have a prob.
for a single 12 I would put it in a 3 cube Slot ported box If you need dimensions let me know.
