Default Want to install XM on my 2000 SSEi

So i got this XM sattelite for x mas and have been anxiously awaiting to get it put in. However i went to the local audio shop and they can't do it cause of my Bose Stock Stereo unit. The Antenna connector would need an adapter and apparently they don't make one.

What do you guys know about this??

I am in the same boat, our Bose systems while not a bad radio it was the worst design I have ever seen.

The rear antenna interface does not allow for a conventional antenna plug so the only solution is to get behind the dash, find the antenna coax and cut new fittings into it, a female adapter on one side and male on the other side, this will allow access to the FM input of the radio for devices that use FM modulators such as Satelite receivers, CD changers etc.

You can find these antenna fittings at Radio Shack or other electronic parts stores, I have not done it yet but I plan on it soon as I would like to install either a CD changer or a hard drive player for MP3'* myself.

Either that or XM makes a cigarette lighter adaptor with the FM modulator built right into it. My dad has this, but he doesn't use it on account of his aftermarket HU having an AUX in. But maybe look into that if you don't want to cut your antenna.

I don't care about cutting the antenna as long as it will not damage the strength of the antenna. My cousin works for an audio shop i will see if they will do it for me.
