Do all 2000 up factory Delphi HU'* have to be de/re-coded by a Tech 2 ?
Pick up a used direct fit unit off FleaBay from good source,[with VIN] but don't get any lights on on display only> all buttons light up OK [which is why I was replacing orig unit]> theft light blinks with ket off and steady with key on
Familiar with manual method of retriving code and set up, but dealer says they need the display for Tech2 as well,,, sound right?

Familiar with the VIN swap
Question is wether you need the Tech 2 recalc first, before the unit works and display lights?
Guessing defective unit with bad display, but double checking to see if others experianced similar "no display" during swap
