Theftlock on or off? Bolt up radio?
Bear with me, I'm not big into stereos and all...in fact this is my first post under "Audio".
Anyway, my Theftlock light is never on so I'm assuming it'* safe to remove the stock radio with no problems right?
Does Theftlock just kill the radio or the entire speaker system when broken into?
Also, I am looking for a stock Delco GM cd player and found one from a 99 Grand Am, will this work with my 94 as a direct swap? Many people say there was only compatability between the 95-2001 years...true? Because the radio out of the Grand Am looks IDENTICAL to mine from the front (havn't taken mine out yet to compare).

you can always create a harness to go between the one on the car, and the one on the deck. Mounting is more important. And if you get it for a good deal, and it doesnt work you can always sell it... Maybe somsone could check the magic book.

So? A verdict?
I looked in my Chilton'* and the removal/installation intructions are the same for 92-99 models. So why does everyone say the Delco CDplayer only works 96-99 Bonnevilles?

Chiltons isn't the best place to look for car stereo equipment instructions... Crutchfield has nice product, and car sheets they give when you buy stuff. If you buy the deck and you cant get it to work (which i know you can a certain way) then you could always sell it for a profit...
If the wiring harnesses aren't the same, you have to make a harness that goes between the car, and the deck, like an adapter. Mounting is a pretty easy thing, it'* easy to fix if it'* simple etc..
