Remote start has definately came in handy for me. Over the past few months I've had a progressivly worsening problem of my car not wanting to start when using the key. The security light would turn on, and when you turn the key to start it, you get nothing at all. Then you have to wait three minutes and try again, and sometimes it still won't work. But, if I use the remote start it works everytime. So, that'* when it REALLY comes in handy because I don't have the time to sit around and wait three minutes to try again for it to start. My guess is probably a faulty ignition switch?

I like it most on the frigid winter days and hellishly hot summer day.

My guess would be that your key needs a good cleaning. The resistor that the remote start is using is close enough to start the vehicle but the one in the key is off. Isopropyl alcohol and Q-tips should do the trick.

Wow in your case thats rocks ,I am also a lover of the remote start,In a way is good for the engine,I the guy who used to go out fire her up and peel away with a cold engine,now she runs for a few minutes and gets nice and warm before takeoff

unfortunately I don't think it'* as simple as just a key cleaning. No matter which set of keys I use, I get the same result. I"ve also had a problem where the car would just shut off while I was driving it. I'ts only done that once though.
I see you want a LeSabre T-Type. They're getting pretty rare now. It'* a real find to find one that is in good condition still. parts are real hard to find.

I assume you have VATS in the car so the next thing I would look at is the relay wiring used for the VATS bypass. There will be one wire from the ignition switch going to pin 87a on a normal relay. This is the normally closed terminal. You just might find a faulty connection there 'cause the VATS wires are rather small and sometimes it'* difficult to connect with traditional crimp-on connectors. I use these little yellow butt connectors used for phone line available at Radio Shack.

Yea, I have heard that remote starters can really **** with ignition systems. Or is the remote a factory option on your car?
