safe to say never go above half-way on the dial i had mine set at 40hz

40hz!?!? Gimme 20 min with your system and i'll make it sing...

do about 75-80 like recommended. Most 6x9'* dont do much below this, and any higher, and the sub will sound like CHIT.

The 6x9'* I usually set from 100Hz to about 200Hz all depending what I am using them for. If I Am going to use them more for midbass, Ill go with 100-120Hz.
